Yesterday

I had promised to attend an interactive session with some film enthusiasts being organised by Graphix thrissur.I was a bit reluctant later coz of some other committements, still decided to go ahead with it as it was a word given.

It made my day.John Paul who was taking another session was there .I met him for the first time, always admired his writings and outlooks to cinema.Could talk with him a bit on the days when cinema used to take birth from a group of friendships. He volunteered to sit with me through my session. It felt truly great to sit with a master and hear him talk through his experiences. It was a good interaction as well.

Went to my cousin Rahul’s house on my way back. His parents are slowly getting used to his demise and starting to live again.Spend some hours there.

Reached back kochi and watched Naan Kadaul. What a movie!!!Disturbing to the core..I missed it since many told me it looked so disjointed etc..Was a crime missing it!Bala is able to export u to that disturbing world..A national award well deserved!!

A good sleep.Woke up early today and took a good walk for almost an hour.

Feel refreshed!

  1. Hi Renjithetta,

Glad to know that you had a great day. Also interested in knowing more about the session you took, the students you interacted with etc. Its obviously great to know how you are looking at the youngsters in the future.

  2. Thanks Arun.I will write a post on it.

  3. One person’s success in his dream artistic career depends on his ability to internally handle two major challenges.

First challenge is before his success and second one is immediately after.

One has to make continuous efforts for years to get his ever first opportunity. But if one’s talent is genuine, these years will
Not turn down his confidence and make him frustrated. Because, psychologically,if your talent is genuine and above all materialistic
Gains, your own mind will continuously supply you with ‘a kind of a hope filled with pleasure’. And the nature’s law is that a true talent has
    To succeed once.

The second challenge is immediately after your success. Suddenly you will find that, all the un-attended calls from different producers
And ‘’so called film personalities’’ are coming to your mobile without a single dial. You will be under tremendous pressure to do a film
Motivated by many kind of materialistic gains. Here you may be tempted to deliver your second child in 3 months without even being conceived.
Again,if your talent is genuine, you will wait until your innerself says ‘’this is the time’’.

Me too, after an MBA and a managerial post in Sharjah Airport freezone, tried continuously for 7 years for my first opportunity which may be materialized
In this October .But I thought this could be only my own experience since I was not having a God father in the film field.

But,sir, that is why I asked you the ever first question yesterday in grafix to share your experience in making the film PASSENGER.

My heart nearly came to shock, when I knew that you took almost 12 years to fufill your dream.

And it was a great success ,because you knew what you will do after getting an opportunity…and I wish you great success in life!!

now the films released are 40 percent less than 7 years back and number of theatres are 50 percent less than 5 years back!!
And really it worries every aspirants (including me) who are trying to convert their career into film!!

Our film industry will grow like an economic principle when more talented people comes forward again!!

(as you know, economic principle says,it will not grow downwards when competition increases- because when more good industries
Are established, money grows because more workers get WAGE,owner gets PROFIT,bank get INTEREST and government get TAX.).

I have only one request to the future aspirants…more than thinking on how to get your first opportunity, try to think what one can do
After getting the first opportunity. Then only you can make a similar success what Ranjith Sankar sir made!!

Otherwise… you will be a PASSENGER in a train which will never find a Railway station.!!!

  5. Maashe,
New design is nice..very simple..readability is there. Still there could be chance of more attractive templates. Adding more shades of blue. And one suggestion on the blog title: Now it is Ranjith Sankar’s Blog. Put some nice Title like ” Passion For Cinema …” 🙂
